The Outreach Coordinator and Science Educator is a key member of the Da Vinci Science Center’s outreach education team, bringing science to life through hands-on after school programs, summer camps, classroom outreach, science shows, birthday parties, and community events that serve more than 40,000 people annually.
The Outreach Coordinator and Science Educator is responsible for delivering programs, developing new content based on current trends and customer requests, training and coaching Outreach Science Educators, and working with the team to expand our impact and reach. The Coordinator acts as an educator, delivering many of the hands-on science experiences to the public and supports all museum education programs at the Center.
The Coordinator ensures that staff and volunteers are aware of the scientific concepts, inquiry-based approaches to science teaching, and effective presentation techniques that create a Da Vinci Science Center experience.
A strong candidate should have a science and/or education background, a passion for working with people, and enjoy helping others learn science. This individual must have excellent presentation, leadership, and organizational skills. Coordinator should also bring a sense of play and humor to their work. EOE
