Science Inquiry Fund Offers Aid for Schools, Child Care Centers
November 2, 2012ALLENTOWN, Pa., November 2, 2012 – Schools and child care providers can now apply for funds to underwrite Da Vinci Science Center (DSC) field trips and Science On the Move outreach programs through Monday, Nov. 19.
The Da Vinci Science Center’s Science Inquiry Fund (SIF) will provide these funds in 2013 based on availability, need, and interest. Schools in the Center’s 14-county service area qualify for funding if at least 50 percent of their students are eligible for free or reduced price meals. Child care centers in the service area qualify if more than 50 percent of their students are eligible for a Pennsylvania Child Care Works (CCW) subsidy.
The Science Inquiry Fund is supported by Avantor Performance Materials, Center Valley, Pa., and Daiichi Sankyo, Parsippany, N.J.
Applications are now available on the web at www.davincisciencecenter.org/inquiryfund. Applications must be submitted by Monday, Nov. 19, at 5 p.m. Award recipients will be notified by Monday, Dec. 3.
