Hall of Fame Awards


 
The Da Vinci Science Center has bestowed its Hall of Fame Awards annually since 1999 to educators, high school students, professionals, companies, and community leaders who bring science to life and bring lives to science throughout eastern Pennsylvania and western New Jersey.

Da Vinci Science Center Hall of Fame Awards for educators and high school students are given at the discretion of the Center’s Hall of Fame selection committees. Da Vinci Science Center Hall of Fame Awards for companies, professionals, and community leaders are given at the discretion of the Executive Committee of the Center’s Board of Trustees. The Da Vinci Science Center presents its Hall of Fame Awards traditionally at its annual gala.
 

2015 Student and Educator Applications

Application forms have been released for the Da Vinci Science Center’s 2015 Hall of Fame Awards for educators in grades K-12 and high school students. Applications must be completed and submitted by Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015. Award winners will be honored at the 2015 Da Vinci Science Center Hall of Fame Gala on April 25, 2015.

All Da Vinci Science Center Hall of Fame Award winners study, work, or live in the Da Vinci Science Center’s primary service area in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Spirit of Verrocchio Mentorship Award

The Spirit of Verrocchio Mentorship Award recognizes community leaders for their passionate mentorship of the Da Vinci Science Center and its mission. The award is named after a 15th century mentor to Leonardo da Vinci.

Student Excellence Award

The Student Excellence Award honors high school students who not only excel in science academically, but seek to expand their knowledge and leadership skills outside of the classroom. The Spirit of Leonardo Award recognizes a high school student who exemplifies the special harmony between art and science in a manner that is consistent with the inspiring life of Leonardo da Vinci. The Student Excellence Award was known as the Apprentice Award from 1999-2012.

Educator Excellence Award

The Educator Excellence Award recognizes excellence and innovation in the teaching of science, the fostering of deep and meaningful student learning, and generation of exceptional student achievement. The Excellence in Technology Award recognizes an educator or team of educators that inspire enthusiasm through use of popular and emerging technologies. The Professional Development Award recognizes educators for their work as participants in the Da Vinci Science Center’s professional development programs. The Educator Excellence Award was known from 1999-2012 as the Grand Master Award.

Grand Maestro Corporate Award

The Grand Maestro Corporate Award honors a Da Vinci Science Center partner in recognition of its substantial contributions to the scientific community and the Center. This award also was given from 2003-2005 to nonprofit organizations and community leaders.

Special Topic Awards

The Da Vinci Science Center has presented Hall of Fame Awards in recognition for specific attributes and achievements.
