DSC Opens Olympus BioScapes 2014 Visual Exhibition

The Olympus BioScapes 2014 visual exhibition has opened at the Da Vinci Science Center and will appear at the Center through May 3, 2015.

The gallery of winning entries of Olympus America’s digital imaging competition will be included with paid Da Vinci Science Center admission or membership entry. The annual BioScapes contest recognizes the world’s finest microscopic still images and videos of human, plant, and animal subjects captured through light microscopes of any magnification and any brand. Olympus America is headquartered in Center Valley, Pa.

First Prize in the 2014 Olympus BioScapes competition went to an extraordinary movie of a fruit fly developing, captured by a team including William Lemon, Fernando Amat, and Philipp Keller of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) Janelia Research Campus in Ashburn, Va.

Winning images from Olympus BioScapes Competitions travel throughout North America for display. The Da Vinci Science Center has hosted the 2006 and 2008-2013 BioScapes exhibitions.
