DSC Raises $107,000 from Penna. EITC Program to Date
The Da Vinci Science Center announced today that it has received $107,000 in contributions to date since July 2013 through the Pennsylvania Education Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC) to fund its science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education programs.
The Da Vinci Science Center’s EITC contributions for 2013 have been made by PPL Corporation, Air Products, Teva Pharmaceuticals, and Susquehanna Bank.
The EITC program allows companies to receive tax credits in exchange for donating to eligible educational programs.
The Da Vinci Science Center’s education programs include its school field trip workshops and Outreach Programs throughout eastern Pennsylvania. These engaging, interactive programs help get students excited about science; strengthen their understanding of science content; and raise their awareness of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) careers with companies in the region. Approximately 30,000 Pre-K-12 students participated in Da Vinci Science Center field trips and more than 21,000 students were served through the Center’s outreach programs during the fiscal year ending June 30, 2013.
