A new initiative led by the Da Vinci Science Center, Discover Lehigh Valley, and ArtsQuest seeks to make sure that families know about the fun things they can do with kids around the Lehigh Valley area.
Lehigh Valley Kidsventure is a partnership formed by the Da Vinci Science Center to help it and other kid-friendly attractions and hospitality providers promote their experiences collectively to families. Nearly twenty venues and partners have joined the effort to date. The Da Vinci Science Center leads the coalition and Discover Lehigh Valley is its lead promotional partner. Kidsventure printing is sponsored by Raven One to One Marketing. Refreshment Partner Coca-Cola Bottling Company of the Lehigh Valley will provide additional marketing support for Lehigh Valley Kidsventure across multiple platforms.
Kidsventure partners will offer unique promotions from April 1-Oct. 31, 2015. Families with children can take advantage of these opportunities by downloading the official 2015 Lehigh Valley Kidsventure bookmark on the web at lehighvalleykidsventure.com or by picking up a bookmark at any partner venue starting in the coming weeks. Kidsventure members also will promote their partners’ experiences with group tour providers.
Additional Lehigh Valley Kidsventure partners as of Tuesday are: Allentown Art Museum of the Lehigh Valley; Allentown Symphony Association; America On Wheels Museum; The Baum School of Art; Comfort Suites Allentown; Crayola Experience; Dutch Springs; Holiday Inn Lehigh Valley; Hyatt Place Bethlehem; Kids Quest and Cyber Quest; Lehigh Valley Zoo; Lost River Caverns; Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival; and Wildlands Conservancy.
The Lehigh Valley Kidsventure partnership was announced formally Tuesday at a news conference below the Earth’s surface at Lost River Caverns in Hellertown, Pa. The Caverns’ promotion of discounted tours for bookmark holders starting April 1 opens the 2015 Kidsventure season.
“There is a palpable excitement among the Lehigh Valley Kidsventure partners because it begins to actualize a collaborative vision that has been discussion for a considerable length of time,” said Lin Erickson, Da Vinci Science Center Executive Director and CEO. “Our goal is to become a comprehensive and vital source of answers for all Lehigh Valley adults who seek to find engaging things to do with the children in their families and to enrich their family lives.”
While Lehigh Valley Kidsventure will provide a useful resource for the area’s families, partners believe that it can make a positive impact on tourism in the region. “We are so pleased that this group of family friendly attractions, activities, and venues have chosen to work together in creating Lehigh Valley Kidsventure,” said Michael Stershic, President of Discover Lehigh Valley. “It is a living example of Lehigh Valley as an outstanding family destination.”
All Kidsventure-related promotions during the partnership’s 2015 season will take place from April 1-Oct. 31, 2015. Promotions will include discounts to existing exhibits, programs, and events along with events and program created specifically for the Kidsventure effort. A complete list of promotions is available through the Lehigh Valley Kidsventure website.
