Fans can help the Da Vinci Science Center create an awesome new experience for preschool children with an online gift to its Annual Fund on #GivingTuesday, Dec. 1, 2015.
The Center launches its holiday season Annual Fund appeal on #GivingTuesday and hopes to raise $15,000 toward the purchase of Engineers on a Roll – a combined engineering lab, playscape, and climbing experience that offers preschool children hours of active fun while they explore technology, mathematics, and engineering as they drop, bounce, and sort colorful balls. Created by the Ann Arbor Hands-on Museum in Michigan, Engineers on a Roll would represent the largest single permanent exhibit investment in the Da Vinci Science Center’s history. The Center hopes to open it in the fall of 2016.
#GivingTuesday is an initiative started in 2012 to remind people about the importance of philanthropic giving during the winter holiday season. Held on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, the event follows the shopping days known popularly as Black Friday and Cyber Monday. People are encouraged to make contributions to nonprofit organizations and make their gifts known on social media platforms by using the hashtag #GivingTuesday.
Fans and members are asked to support the Center’s purchase of Engineers on a Roll by making an Annual Fund contribution at davincisciencecenter.org/annualfund during #GivingTuesday.
Tax-deductible contributions also can be made by check payable to the Da Vinci Science Center and sent to: Da Vinci Science Center Annual Fund; 3145 Hamilton Blvd. Bypass; Allentown, PA 18103. Questions can be directed to the Center’s Development Office at 484.664.1002, Ext. 102.
