Funding opportunities are available from multiple sources for educators who wish to provide Da Vinci Science Center field trips for their students during the upcoming school year.
Da Vinci Science Center field trips include access to interactive exhibits that bring science concepts to life for students. Fun and knowledgeable instructors provide real-world examples of science in hands-on workshops and thought-provoking live demonstrations. Da Vinci Science Center field trips reinforce school curriculum and create student awareness of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) careers in the Lehigh Valley area.
Sources of field trip funding include the following:
The Da Vinci Science Center’s Science Inquiry Fund is supported primarily by special pledge appeal gifts made during the organization’s annual fundraising gala. Schools qualifying for Science Inquiry Fund support serve student bodies in which at least 50 percent of its students qualify for free or reduced-price meals. Qualifying child care centers serve student bodies in which more than 50 percent of children qualify for a Pennsylvania Child Care Works (CCW) subsidy. School Field Trips supported by the Science Inquiry Fund must take place between Sept. 1-March 31.
A sample letter for educators to use when applying for funding from companies and other organizations is available on the Center’s field trips web page.
