The American Made Movie Tour, a bus tour to promote a documentary about manufacturing, stopped at the Da Vinci Science Center Wednesday as part of the tour’s visit to the Lehigh Valley area.
The tour stop was arranged by the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation (LVEDC) to recognize the Da Vinci Science Center’s role in manufacturing workforce development. The Center and the Manufacturers Resource Center (MRC) discusseed an upcoming manufacturing video contest for eighth grade students. The contest will culminate in an academy award-style event at the Center.
The video contest is part of the Lehigh Valley’s regional Skill Up project, a regional manufacturing workforce initiative led by the MRC. Da Vinci Science Center is a Skill Up project partner.
The American Made Movie Tour is planned to visit 32 cities in 32 days to focus on the impact that consumers have on the health of their local communities as well as the nation at large.
