Northampton Community College (NCC) in Bethlehem, Pa., offers would-be inventors a state-of-the-art fabrication lab and technical support to test their ideas.
The Fab Lab at NCC is open weekdays for the college’s students along with individuals from the community and companies. Available tools include a laser cutter-etcher, a rapid prototype 3-D printer, a CNC router, a woodworking lab, computers, and sewing-embroidery equipment.
The Fab Lab also offers open enrollment courses and business consulting services.
The lab was created by regional entrepreneur Shahri Naghshineh to bring table-top manufacturing and fabrication technology to the masses, making it possible for almost anyone with a great idea to turn that idea into a tangible reality.
Northampton Community College President, Mark Erickson, Ph.D., is the husband of Da Vinci Science Center CEO Lin Erickson.
