A veteran educator of over 40 years, John F. Reinhart began his career as a teacher in Easton and is currently serving as Superintendent of Schools in the Easton Area School District.
Prior to this assignment, he served as Elementary Principal, Secondary Principal, Assistant Superintendent and Superintendent of Schools in the Bangor Area School District. He has assisted in creating a school-based family center, wraparound services, and Community Schools with district and United Way personnel in Bangor.
Several of his recognitions were the 2002 United Way Leaders in Community Building Award, the 2010 Express-Times Community Leadership Award, the 2010 Good Scout Award from the Minsi Trails Council, the 2016 Easton NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Community Improvement and, most recently, the 2017 CIS Success “Champion of Education” Award.
John is the author of the book, From the Slate, an ethnographic history of the Welsh people in northern Northampton County, and was named a Distinguished Educator by the Bangor Area High School Alumni Association. A current resident of Pen Argyl, he is a past president of the National Welsh American Foundation, headquartered in Washington, D.C.
