Dean Bestwick has been a Da Vinci Science Center Trustee since February 2022.

For the past 35 years, Bestwick has worked in progressively senior roles in the trucking and automotive industries. Beginning his career as a spare parts interpreter at the local General Motors Holden dealership, he eventually moved on to join his family’s business – Bestwick Transport, based in Port Macquarie. He managed Bestwick Transport on and off for over a decade, and worked with various transportation companies around the NSW, with a significant focus on logistics before being headhunted to work for Mack Trucks in 2000.
Joining Mack Trucks was a turning point for Bestwick. He has worked in progressively senior sales roles across Australia with Mack until 2009, when he was appointed General Manager.

Now Vice President Mack Trucks Australia, overseeing the Oceania region, Bestwick is so proud to be the Australian caretaker for this iconic brand. He feels passionately that his responsibility as the head of Mack is to guide the brand and product development in a direction that strengthens their offering for customers. He prides himself on performance excellence, being results-focused and leading his team by example. His time in the VP role has been characterised by improvements in profitability, product quality and uniting teams to a common purpose.
Bestwick has proven ability as a self starter, quick learner and a strategic thinker. He considers himself to lead in a commercial and operationally efficient manner. Above all, he takes pride in his ability to manage and coach successful teams through effective communication and strong people skills.
