What is Electroluminescence?

Lightwire Theater uses electroluminescent wire to create characters. Due to its tiny diameter and ability to produce unbroken light in 360 degrees, it is very flexible and ideal for use in clothing and costumes.

Building a Show

Lightwire builds all of its costumes from scratch, often using recycled materials to achieve the required durability. A costume may take as many as 200 hours to complete.

Leo's Creativity Studio Featuring DINO-LIGHT

Leo’s Creativity Studio has a brand-new look during the Dino Light Experience. Transform everyday materials into new and exciting inventions using modern tools and materials like die cut machines, electrically conductive copper tape, and various electronics. Visitors will have the opportunity to take home a model dinosaur, paper circuit project, and mechanical straw puppet creation.

Lab B: Bringing Back the Dinosaurs

Dino Bones Puzzles

Put your Paleontology skills to the test! Visitors use a die cut machine to cut out the pieces they need to construct their own anatomically accurate model of their favorite dinosaur by putting the “bones” back together. Choose from popular prehistoric creatures including Brontosaurus and Tyrannosaurus Rex!

Mechanical Dinosaur Puppets

Experiment with engineering and mechanics to make your very own dinosaur puppet come to life! Visitors will combine string, straws, and paper to create elaborate mechanical puppets that will continue to spark curiosity and interest in STEM at home! Possibilities are as endless as your imagination.

Lab C: Creative Circuitry

Embark on your very own light up adventure with copper tape, LEDs, and even electrically conductive squishy circuit dough. Design works of art that illuminate the room, fabricate wearable light-up pins, and explore the world of electrical engineering, all at the same time! Paper circuit projects are yours to keep and inspire continued learning at home.

DINO-LIGHT is presented by ATAS International, Inc. with support from Agora Cyber Charter School, Moravian Academy, and The Center at Holiday Inn Lehigh Valley.
