Abbie Zukowski, an 11-year-old girl from Emmaus, loved the stars. She wanted to be an astronomer and would spend many evenings studying the night sky through her telescope.
We are remembering her with a space-themed sleepover party on the eve of what would have been her 15th Birthday.
On this special night, visitors will enjoy mobile planetarium shows, presented by Gus & Judy Belaires, and night sky observations (weather permitting), explore the power of our nearest star by experimenting with ultra-violet jewelry and nail polish, and engineer a rocket to take home.
Da Vinci Science Center Sleepover Patch is included with this program, as well as some requirements of the new Space Science Girl Scout Badges at Junior, Cadette, Senior and Ambassador levels (details to follow).
This program is intended for girls in 4th grade and older. Being a registered Girl Scout is not required for this program. One female adult required for every five girls attending. Male adult chaperones for Girl Scout groups can attend but cannot count towards the chaperone requirements.
A portion of each ticket sold will go towards the Abigail Zukowski Memorial Scholarship Fund.
