We’re thrilled to partner with Interlace Cultural Y Desarollo Inegral Mexicano de Lehigh Valley, Inc. and the Sin Fronteras dance group to help us with the closing ceremony for our Ofrenda, located within the Jack-O-Lantern Lane exhibit.

Sin Fronteras, meaning “Without Borders”, is a dance group dedicated to representing Mexican culture through art. Their performance will take place at 2 p.m. in Leo’s Landing Cafe.

About Día de Los Muertos and the Ofrenda

Día de Los Muertos is a Mexican holiday, celebrated between October 31st and November 2nd, where individuals thoughtfully memorialize the deceased. The ritual was developed by the Aztec empire over 3,000 years ago and was later adapted when Christianity spread to Latin America. Those who celebrate the holiday believe that one should not grieve the loss of a deceased individual. Instead, one should celebrate their lives and joyfully welcome their return. In Mexico, the altar and ofrenda (offering) are central to the holiday and necessary for reuniting the living and the deceased.
