Kathleen K. McKenzie is the Vice President of Community Affairs at Highmark Inc. McKenzie oversees corporate grants management, community programs and volunteerism for Central Pennsylvania, Lehigh Valley, and Northeastern Pa. She also provides oversight and support for community affairs activities in the State of Delaware. She is responsible for the development and execution of defined strategies that promote the corporate Community Affairs initiatives in 34 counties of Pennsylvania and for direct grants and programs of 63 Pennsylvania counties for managing the EITC program.
Previously, McKenzie was Vice President of Community and Civic Affairs for Highmark Health. At Highmark Health she was responsible for the functional integration and alignment of Allegheny Health Network’s community affairs division into the parent organization. McKenzie began her career with Highmark in March of 2011 as the Vice President of Community and Civic Affairs at Allegheny Health Network and provided strategic management of civic and community relations as a key system leader representing the hospital network’s external interests. She was responsible for the hospital system’s compliance with the Community Health Needs Assessment.
McKenzie also served as Allegheny County Deputy Manager. As Deputy Manager, she was responsible for the supervision and administration of the county’s operations and was also responsible for major policy initiatives of the County Chief Executive including city-county consolidation and the establishment of the first county parks foundation.
McKenzie completed a B.A. in government and law from Lafayette College and received her Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. McKenzie is admitted to the Bar of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and Territory of the United States Virgin Islands.
McKenzie currently serves as a trustee for the Da Vinci Science Center board and is a member of the Capital Region United Way of the Capital Region’s Women’s Leadership Council.
