Da Vinci Science Center Announces 2018 Inventors Lab Winner
The Da Vinci Science Center is pleased to announce that Ryan Boulrice is the 2018 winner of the Most Patentable Invention award at the Science Center’s Inventors Lab Showcase. Ryan invented earbud headphones that utilize a new way to manage the connecting cords. Ryan will receive pro bono assistance in filing a provisional U.S. patent application for his invention.
Ryan, the son of Alice and Jason Boulrice of Emmaus, is a seventh grader at Lower Macungie Middle School.
The Inventors Lab program works with a cohort of students every year (September to April) to learn about the invention process, to understand what makes an invention eligible for patent, and to encourage them to devise and develop their own original ideas. Students are teamed up with adult mentors, do activities and experiments that hone their invention skills, and meet real-world inventors and innovators. Inventors Lab is open to students in grades 5-8. Registration for the 2018-19 program will open in midsummer.
