The Da Vinci Science Center announced today that tickets for the 2016 Da Vinci Science Center Hall of Fame Gala – presented by PPL Corporation – are sold out.
The Da Vinci Science Center’s flagship fundraising event takes place on Saturday, May 14, at the Renaissance Allentown Hotel. The black-tie-optional evening includes a cocktail reception, dinner, silent auction, live auction, special pledge appeal, and the presentation of the Center’s annual Hall of Fame Awards.
Event proceeds support the Center’s exhibits and programs that bring science to life every day for children of all backgrounds and socioeconomic status and inspire them to explore careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. The gala’s 275 tickets have been sold through sales of sponsorships and individual tickets, and the Da Vinci Science Center has raised the most sponsorship revenue in the event’s history, said Ann Marie Surovy, CFRE, the Center’s Director of Development and Community Relations.
Presenting Sponsor PPL Corporation will light its iconic Tower Building in purple and yellow – the Center’s primary logo colors – from May 12-17 to commemorate the event and the Center’s mission to bring science to life and lives to science. Additional gala and award sponsors are as follows:
Award honorees for 2016 include J. Robert Lovett, Ph.D., the Da Vinci Science Center’s Founding Chairman; Karen S. Angello, Ph.D., former Center Trustee and Allentown School District Superintendent; UGI Utilities; Sally Gammon, FACHE, former President and CEO of Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network; a middle school student, four high school students, and three educators in grades K-12.
