Polar Weekend

Sled Dogs return to Da Vinci Science Center during Polar Weekend, Feb. 15-17, 2020. Learn about animals that live in some of the coldest places on Earth and how they survive in such extreme conditions. Plus, discover what you can do at home to protect the environment in which these animals live.  All activities are included with admission or membership.

Sled Dogs from Dutch Springs

Meet and interact with Sled Dogs from our friends at Dutch Springs! Learn from an experienced dog-musher what dogs are best for each type of mushing, how huskies are adapted for cold conditions, how the dogs are trained, and more. Sled dog shows will take place at Da Vinci Science Center.

Polar Artifacts from the Center for Aquatic Sciences

*Monday, Feb. 17 only*: 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Examine and touch real polar artifacts from the Center for Aquatic Sciences! Now is your chance to get an up-close look at a narwhal tusk, polar bear fur, and a seal pelt. Learn what it takes for these animals to survive the extreme conditions in the arctic regions of our Earth.
