Lovett Legacy Society Launched

ALLENTOWN, PA. June 2022 — Da Vinci Science Center is pleased to announce its first planned giving society, the Lovett Legacy Society.

The society is named in honor of Dr. J. Robert “Bob” Lovett, founding chair of the organization and emeritus trustee. Dr. Lovett was part of the team who decided to build a new science center on the  Cedar Crest College campus, with the goal to increase the organization’s ability to offer hands-on science experiences for children, families and schools throughout the region. Dr. Lovett also was instrumental in the 2004 merger between the SMART Discovery Center and Leonardo da Vinci’s Horse, Inc. (LDVHI) to form the current incarnation of the Da Vinci Science Center.  As emeritus trustee, he tirelessly continues to work to expand science learning opportunities for young people, especially for  youth from low-income neighborhoods in Allentown.

He believes all children in the community should have the opportunity to realize their full potential and to that end, he is working to ensure that the Da Vinci Science Center can continue its mission to bring science to life and lives to science for generations to come.

The Lovett Legacy Society is aptly named in his honor as he once again plays a leading role in the organization as it establishes its planned giving initiative.

As a longtime supporter of the Da Vinci Science Center it brings me great joy to announce the creation of the Lovett Legacy Society and to lend my name to a most necessary initiative. Future support for our reserves is essential. This paves the way for the creation of a future endowment enabling us to sustain and grow the Da Vinci Science Center for generations to come.” Robert Lovett
