The Da Vinci Science Center’s Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) Network is an initiative that supports current female professionals in the STEM fields – science, technology, engineering, and mathematics – and encourages female students to pursue STEM careers.
Efforts led by the Da Vinci Science Center produced a Women in Science Week of visitor activities in 2011 and the Lehigh Valley area’s first formal Women in Science event in Sept. 2014. The network holds an annual WISE Field Trip Day event for middle school students and visitors and an annual WISE Forum event for high school and college students.
The Da Vinci Science Center’s Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) Network includes accomplished professionals from a variety of STEM fields and respected educators. The WISE Network is co-chaired by Kathryn C. Worrilow, Ph.D., a former Da Vinci Science Center Trustee and Founder and CEO of LifeAire Systems in Allentown, Pa.; and Erin Armstrong, Associate Director, Sterilization, for B. Braun in Allentown, Pa. The network is overseen by an Executive Advisory Council which was formed in 2017.
