Status Update from Da Vinci Science Center on COVID-19

Updated May 15, 2020

The Da Vinci Science Center is temporarily closed to help contain the spread of the novel coronavirus, causative agent of COVID-19. Updates will be posted to this page as the situation unfolds.

  • Reserved Programs

Reserved programs have been cancelled through May 18. Our Visitor Services and Education teams will be communicating with those who have reserved programs scheduled through May 18 in an effort to reschedule or cancel these programs and events. Please note, our team will have a limited ability to respond to emails and phone calls in the coming weeks. If you have a program scheduled after May 18, we will reach out to you on or after May 4 to confirm future plans.

  • Anticipated Reopening

We have been closely monitoring guidance from the Governor and Pennsylvania Department of Health. Based on this guidance, we have decided to extend our temporary closure until updated guidance from public health officials indicates that it is safe to reopen our facility. We will continue to monitor guidance from the state and update you as new information becomes available.

  • Membership

We will extend all memberships by the amount of time that we are closed.

  • Virtual Programming

Our staff members are currently accepting inquiries about virtual programming options. Email virtual@nulldavincisciencecenter.org for more information.

  • Science at Home

Professional Da Vinci Science Center educators want to continue to bring science to life and lives to science, even while you’re at home! These Science at Home activities have been carefully selected to ignite your sense of curiosity and encourage you to learn it, try it, and share it. Learn More

  • Hall of Fame Awards Gala

The 2020 Hall of Fame Awards Gala has been cancelled. We will be celebrating this year's honorees through virtual means within the coming weeks.

  • Curiosity Never Closes

Science and a scientifically literate society are humanity’s best hopes in addressing the coronavirus and other major threats. We will continue to ignite curiosity and fuel a passion for discovery, experimentation and critical thinking. Our work is now more important than ever. If you agree, please consider donating now. Your support will help keep curiosity open and inspire and empower the problem solvers of tomorrow.  Donations received during this time period will provide scholarships to underserved students to participate in Science Center programs, including programs like Outbreak Alert!, a classroom program designed to inspire the scientists of the future by introducing students to the basics of how diseases spread, how to engineer an antiviral, and how to prevent an outbreak from becoming a pandemic.
