The STEM Educator is responsible for delivering extraordinary learning experiences all across the Lehigh Valley in our traveling science programs and at the Da Vinci Science Center for all guests including students, families, public visitors, and members. Specific responsibilities include delivering classroom programs, after school programs, science celebrations, summer learning programs, and science shows. The Educator’s priority role is in fulfilling programs for a project based learning grant with elementary school students in the Allentown School District. This grant is intended to enhance the ability for classroom teachers to implement these techniques and improve student achievement.
Grant components include classroom programs, after school programs, school-wide Rube Goldberg Machine Contests, and more. The educator is responsible for learning all programs and training other part time staff on the programs. The Educator is responsible for demonstrating the highest quality inquiry and project based learning techniques associated with all grant activities. Additional training will be provided.
The Educator will also support the Museum Experience Team during member night, summer camps, public programming events, and more. The flexible schedule includes some evenings, weekends, and holidays. This position is grant funded and continuation beyond fall 2021 is contingent upon continued funding.
