The Annual Fund supports the Da Vinci Science Center’s efforts toward bringing science to life and lives to science. Students and guests of all ages benefit from Annual Fund gifts through experiencing unforgettable exhibits and academic programs.

Your Donation Makes a Difference

Mahx is an 8th grade student who has lived in Allentown his whole life. Thanks to donors like you, he had the opportunity to visit the Da Vinci Science Center for the first time this year.

He attended the Healthcare Career Connection Days with the Raub Middle School advanced science classes.

"At this workshop, we extracted DNA from strawberries, we examined the brain of a sheep, and we practiced injecting medicine into an IV. I learned a lot more than just hearing about science from a presenter.”

Mahx uses his passion for science to participate in state-level competitions. This year, he won first prize for his project on the physics of parachutes at the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science competition. He hopes to become a video game programmer after graduation.                        Help Students Like Mahx

"Da Vinci was really fun and interesting and I’d like to go back again with my family."

Shaiyan is a 15-year-old Girl Scout of Eastern Pa. She saved three years of Girl Scout cookie money to bring 15 underserved children to the Da Vinci Science Center.

It was the children's first visit to the Science Center, and they had a great time exploring the exhibits and having fun with science.

"It was amazing to see their reactions while learning something new,” said Shaiyan.

Shaiyan embodies the Science Center's mission of bringing science to life and lives to science. You too can support hands-on science experiences for the underserved.

Support STEAM Team

Not all schools have the resources to bring students to the Da Vinci Science Center, so our STEAM Team of Science Educators delivers our hands-on programs to the schools.

Now is your opportunity to help the STEAM Team reach thousands of students for the first time, just like Mahx. For the 2019-20 school year, the Da Vinci Science Center will host the Rube Goldberg Machine Contest® for schools across the Lehigh Valley. The contest will teach students valuable skills like teamwork and out-of-the-box problem-solving while implementing science, technology, engineering, art, and math concepts.

Last year’s contributions helped our STEAM Team:

  • Bring science to life through our Linny Fowler Science Inquiry Fund for more than 2,400 low-income students in the area.
  • Combat the “summer slide” for 90 low-income students with our STEM Summer Learning programs.

Sponsor a School

The Rube Goldberg Machine Contest® is your opportunity to help the STEAM Team teach low-income students the importance of using hands-on STEAM knowledge in everyday life. Make your gift at one of the levels below to allow these students to participate in this one-of-a-kind experience.

We Can't Do It Without You

In the past year, your contributions have helped us:

  • Welcome more than 110,000 visitors to the Science Center and reach more than 40,000 additional students through educational programs.
  • Provide free admission to students who attend low income schools through the Science Inquiry Fund.
  • Continue our Inventors Lab Program, helping students in grades 5-8 explore the invention process and develop their own invention ideas. With the help of Da Vinci volunteer scientists and engineers, this program has resulted in six full U.S. Patents for local young scientists.
  • Expand our Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) Network, connecting more than 350 women in STEM fields with more than 550 female students, creating a community of current and future STEM professionals through networking, social events, and mentoring.

We are excited about bringing science to children through the above programs and by expanding our exhibits. We hope you will consider a donation so you can be a part of inspiring future scientists, inventors and engineers.

Thank you for your consideration; we are truly grateful for your support.
