Da Vinci Science Center and the Allentown Symphony Orchestra invite you to attend a special media day celebrating the launch of Become a Musician, a new interactive exhibit debuting in Curiosity Hall at Da Vinci Science Center at PPL Pavilion that features the finale of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony performed by the Allentown Symphony Orchestra & Chorus.
Become a Musician invites visitors to experience the finale of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony while also being introduced to musical instruments. Through hands-on kiosks, the particpants can learn about the different instruments of the orchestra, hear the individual sounds, and explore how different instrument sounds come together to form a unified piece of music. They will have the opportunity to select their favorite instrument and take a picture of themselves in order to “Become a Musician” in the avatar orchestra shown on the large screen of Curiosity Hall. Designed to inspire curiosity and creativity, the exhibit explores how music is created, how instruments produce sound, and how science and art come together in powerful ways.
Leonardo Society, Symphony Society, special guests, and members of the media are invited to attend the official evening press conference and exhibit demonstration.
Program highlights include:
- Remarks from Allentown Symphony Orchestra and Da Vinci Science Center leadership
- Live exhibit demonstration by El Sistema Lehigh Valley students
- Exhibit access and visual opportunities following the program
- Light refreshments after remarks
This is a highly unique collaboration between the premier science and music organizations in the Lehigh Valley, a mixing of music with an immersive high tech, interactive experience. This groundbreaking experience is one-of-a-kind.
