School’s Out Science Camps

When schools are closed, camp is in session at Da Vinci Science Center!  Students in grades K-5 can join us for a full day of hands-on science fun. We will explore a different topic each day so you can join us every day for a new experience.

Camps start at $85 per person, per day.

Members save $5 per camp.

Scholarships are available for School’s Out Science Camps through our Linny Fowler STEAM Scholarship Fund.

Creative Contraptions
Sept. 25, 2023

Transform simple tasks into zany, complicated, and creative contraptions! From basic chain reactions to complex, team-oriented construction, campers work together as architects and engineers to create out-of-this-world interactive machines on this day of investigation and experimentation.

FrankenScience
Oct. 9, 2023

Kickstart your fall festivities with a day of spook-tacular STEAM exploration. You’ll have a silly, spooky time thinking and working as scientists and engineers to conduct experiments inspired by our Jack-o-Lantern Lane exhibit. Encounter optical illusions, circuitry, illumination, creepy chemistry, and physics. It’s scary how much there is to discover!

Try This at Home!
Nov. 7, 2023

Science is all around us, waiting to be discovered. Through a series of engaging activities and experiments, we inspire young scientists to explore the principles of physics, chemistry, biology, and more using easily accessible materials found in their very own homes. Join our STEAM educators as they ignite the spark of scientific curiosity in YOU!

Computer Science Creations
Nov. 24, 2023

Tinker with technology in new and exciting ways and learn to write code like computer programmersNew to codingNo problemLearn the basics of block coding using tablets and computers or build on existing coding and problem-solving skills, as you explore a range of devices and challenges. Discover just how cool coding can be!

Art of Science
Nov. 27, 2023

Discover how art deepens our understanding of science, technology, engineering, and math. Innovate like Leonardo da Vinci to combine traditional art materials with science and engineering concepts in the creation of interactive works of art. Experiment with the physics of light, tinker with circuitry, and express yourself through artmaking. Discover the world of possibilities that STEAM has to offer!

Leo’s Laboratory
Dec. 22, 2023

Unlock the mysteries of life around you with interesting and in-depth explorations and laboratory investigations in the areas of chemistry, biology, Earth science, and more. Make observations and perform experiments as you learn to observe, think, and explore like scientists.

All About Bubbles
Dec. 26, 2023

What’s so awesome about soap and water? BUBBLES! Investigate the properties of water and trapped gases and discover what makes them special. Experiment with making your own bubble solutions. Test exciting new ways you can create bubbles. Marvel at dramatic bubble displays, and even learn how to recreate your own bubble experiments at home!

Nature Explorers
Dec. 27, 2023

Bring the outdoors indoors and explore with us as we investigate everything from the insects in the grass to the clouds in the sky! Special guests from Wildlands Conservancy inspire our day as we discover the wonders of nature found just beyond our window.

Structure and Sculpture
Dec. 28, 2023

Enter a world where science, engineering, and art collide. Take a hands-on approach to designing and creating structures that are strong, durable, and also beautiful. Notable buildings from around the world inspire camper-designed constructions during this day of architectural explorationAre you ready for the challenge?

Mini Ice Cream Wars
Dec. 29, 2023

Mini Ice Cream Wars returns! Culinary creativity meets innovative imagination for a fun-filled day of frozen delight. Spend the day measuring, mixing, and learning the fundamentals of food science, all in an effort to make the best ice cream ever!

Body Works
Jan. 15, 2024

The human body is an amazing thing, from head to toe. Study basic anatomy and body systems to get a better understanding of how we work on the inside, with our synthetic cadaver, Cyndi the SynDaver. Create models that explain how and why our bodies work the way that they do as we learn to think like medical professionals.

Undercover Science
Feb. 16, 2024

Your mission, should you choose to accept it: become the best super spy in the valley! Unlock your true potential as you practice picking real locks and cracking complex codes. Experiment with the latest tech gadgets and modern methods for uncovering the truth. Who knows what you’ll uncover on this day of undercover exploration!

Earth Detectives
Feb. 19, 2024

Dig into the past as we ask questions and make discoveries about how the Earth formed. Examine REAL fossils, investigate archaeological phenomena, and marvel at the changes the Earth has undergone throughout time. Discover how scientists sift through the evidence left all over our planet to solve the mysteries of how and why our world behaves the way that it does.

Wild Wonders
March 8, 2024

Venture through the animal kingdom and explore the diversity and adaptability of the furry, feathered, and scaly creatures we find in our own backyard and beyond.
