Student Excellence Awards

Hey, Science Fans!  Apply for the Da Vinci Science Center 2021 Hall of Fame Student Excellence Award scholarship today. The Science Center seeks spectacular high school science students in the eastern Pennsylvania and western New Jersey regions for prestigious student awards. In addition to joining a long list of notable prior winners, each of the honorees shall receive a $2,000 scholarship.

Applicants for Student Excellence Awards must be:

  • High school students in grades 9-12
  • Passionate about science
  • Uncommonly creative
  • Insatiably curious
  • Persistent, even in the face of obstacles
  • Community-minded
  • Involved in science beyond the classroom
  • Enrolled at a school in eastern Pa. or western N.J.
  • In good standing academically
  • Able to attend a virtual interview on the evening of March 17, 2021
  • Able to attend the Science Center’s virtual gala, date TBD

Erel STEM Scholarship Award

This is a needs-based scholarship which recognizes an outstanding female high school senior who has demonstrated strong academic ability and a commitment to learning, achievement and serving others in the community. This scholarship provides both a mentorship opportunity as well as financial support of $2,000 to be used toward the cost of tuition. This scholarship will recognize a young woman who pursues post-secondary study in an area of Science, Technology, Engineering and/or Math or Finance (S.T.E.M. education).

The Erel STEM Scholarship is funded by Fusun Bubernack, philanthropist and entrepreneur, in honor of her parents, Hasan Fehmi & Sabahat Erel, and their commitment to the importance of quality education and the pursuit of excellence.

Applicants for Erel STEM Scholarship Award must be:

  • Female high school seniors
  • Passionate about science

Application Process (for both awards)

  • Feb. 22, 2021: Application Deadline
  • March 15, 2021: Applicants notified of finalist status by this date
  • March 17, 2021: Virtual finalist interviews with Selection Committee (20 min. interview, between 5-9 p.m.)*
  • March 24, 2021: Winners notified by this date
  • Date TBD: Da Vinci Science Center Hall of Fame Gala

*Nominees should hold this evening open in the event they are selected.
