This summer camp for grades 6-8 is a unique two-week experience with real-world impact!
Harness the power of Da Vinci Science Center expertise, partnerships, and technology in this new summer program. We’re making a difference in the downtown Allentown community. This is a great opportunity to effect real-world change while developing research and communication skills!

What your student will do:
- Become environmental researchers and investigate how air quality affects health in their community
- Collect and analyze real air quality and climate data from local monitoring stations
- Use air-quality monitoring devices, including the opportunity to design and build their own devices using tools in the Da Vinci Science Center Fab Lab
- Conduct mini research projects about how air quality, heat, and environmental conditions in their neighborhoods affect respiratory health
- Create and share research findings through posters, videos, podcasts, and presentations. Create media pieces in the Da Vinci Science Center Media Production Studio, sponsored by Service Electric Cable TV & Communications
- Become “Air Ambassadors” and share their discoveries with the community in a culminating presentation
Generously funded by a grant from the Association of Science and Technology Centers (ASTC) and Sanofi. Learn more about The Air We Share national initiative.
