Overnight Scout Camp-In Program Descriptions
Murder Mystery Camp-in
Whodunit? There’s been a homicide (an imaginary one, we promise) and we need you to help catch the killer! See how science helps detectives find the culprits behind crimes. Program is developed in partnership with our friends in forensic science at Cedar Crest College.
Wonders of Water
Learn about the awesome properties of water, all the things we need it for, and how we can protect this precious resource. Put water drops through a circus workout, amaze your friends with water that defies gravity, and build a model watershed to see how pollution runoff affects our streams and rivers. (This popular sleepover fills up faster than the Little Lehigh Creek in a rainstorm, so don’t wait to register!)
Animal Sleepover
What’s more fun than a museum sleepover? A museum sleepover with animal friends! (Note: animal friends will not be sleeping in little sleeping bags with your Scouts—they have their enclosures to keep them happy.) Take care of your animal badge requirements by spending some time with our resident and exhibit animals.
A Night at the Museum
We are turning the Science Center into a giant escape room! Exhibits hold the clues to crack the codes for our mystery boxes. Can you get the final master mystery box open by bedtime? This new experience will foster teamwork, problem solving and quick thinking…and it promises to be a lot of fun!
Sustainability Merit Badge
Earn most of the Sustainability Merit Badge with fellow scouts. Each scout will receive a folder printout of all the requirements covered for the night to keep your scout organized and on track to finish the badge at home.
Da Vinci Unlocked
Spend the evening with some of the best that Da Vinci Science Center has to offer. Enjoy a live science show and select up to three (3) workshop experiences from the following: Build a Bug Maze! (K-2nd Grade), Slime Science (K-8th Grade), Short Circuits (3rd-8th Grade), Circuit Playground (3rd-8th Grade), and Thrill Ride 2.0 (3rd-8th Grade). See how we have the MOST fun with science!
