Spooktacular Science Weekends

During Spooktacular Science Weekends in October, the Science Center will be filled with Halloween spirit and fall-themed fun for the whole family! Each weekend brings hands-on activities, festive challenges, and spooky science surprises that make learning an adventure.

All activities are included with general admission or membership (unless otherwise noted below).

Spooktacular Activities

11 am, 1 pm & 3 pm

Professor Pumpkin's Science Show

Step into Professor Pumpkin’s laboratory and witness jaw-dropping experiments with some not-so-spooky surprises mixed in!

2 pm

Spooky Animal Chat

Meet some of our creepy, crawly, and scaly animal and insect ambassadors.

All Day

Pumpkin Pendulum

Swing a tethered pumpkin to knock down pins and see Newton’s laws in action as force, speed, and spin team up to guide its path.

All Day

Remote Control Tractor Races

Test your driving skills as you guide RC tractors around the track and discover how radio waves send signals to keep your vehicle on the move.

All Day

Cauldron Conundrum

Launch frogs from the bubbling cauldron and explore how angles and trajectory determine their path to safety.

All Day

Pumpkin Tic Tac Toe

Try out this festive twist on a classic game using mini pumpkins and sharpen your strategy skills along the way.

1:30 pm

Colonel Pumpkin's Parade

Come dressed in your Halloween costume and join Colonel Pumpkin’s parade through the Science Center

10 am-1:30 pm

Plush Pups on Parade

$10 ($8 for members) | Pick out a stuffed puppy and design and decorate your own carrier for your new pet! Learn important lessons about pet ownership and then proudly show off your stuffed pup by joining Colonel Pumpkin’s Parade around the Science Center!
