Saturday, June 6, 9-11:30 a.m.
Join us for an urban breeding bird count at the Science Center! We will observe and count the surprising number of bird species who call Downtown Allentown home and contribute this data to the 3rd Pennsylvania Bird Atlas – a 5-year snapshot of the bird populations in our state, that helps inform bird conservation.
Guided by birders from Lehigh Valley Audubon Society, we plan to begin our walk with an introduction to bird counting and binocular use, then walk east on Hamilton St to the Jordan Creek Greenway Trailhead at 4th and Turner Streets. After a short walk on the Jordan Greenway Trail, we will return to the Science Center, counting birds all along the way.
