Science clubs at Da Vinci Science Center are all about having the most fun with science! Each meeting, participants will explore different sciences, tinker with modern technology, and build new skills that will help them navigate life in the 21st century. Science Center educators are actively involved in making sure everyone works together, practices good communication techniques, and remains focused on the day’s objective.

Invent your own unique slime formula! Our slime scientists investigate, analyze, and create all sorts of crazy concoctions. Learn how to tweak the properties of your slime to make it stretch, stick, bounce, or even glow. Use the scientific method to expand your knowledge of basic chemistry. Then explore the engineering and design process to make never-before-seen slimes!
Grades 5-9, Sundays, 10 a.m.-12 p.m., Jan. 22-March 12, $199
After honing your critical thinking skills in Idea Lab last fall, develop your idea into something worthy of a U.S. patent! Learn basic patent-drafting skills by exploring the process using a mock invention. They apply those lessons to the patent draft of their own idea. The top presentation at the program’s end-of-season showcase will receive pro bono assistance in filing an application for a provisional U.S. patent.
Concepts focused on in this club include patent writing and patent preparation; registration is by invitation of Idea Lab instructors. Registrants must complete the Idea Lab program before enrolling.

Help Da Vinci Science Center Bring Science to Life! Get a special, behind-the-scenes peek at what goes into our live science shows and learn the secrets behind the creation of each one. Experiment with SuperCOOL states of matter, learn about the Forces at play with Newton’s laws of motion and explore the Chaos that can be created with chemical reactions. Work collectively to hone our public speaking and theater skills. In our final weeks, club members work together to create and perform a live show of their own!
