Science Clubs

Make new friends. Explore your interests. Have the most fun with science.

Science clubs at Da Vinci Science Center are all about having the most fun with science!  Each meeting, participants will explore different sciences, tinker with modern technology, and build new skills that will help them navigate life in the 21st century. Science Center educators are actively involved in making sure everyone works together, practices good communication techniques, and remains focused on the day’s objective.

Animal Adventurers

Grades K-2, Sundays, 10 a.m.-12 p.m., Oct. 2-23, $99

Join us as we venture through the animal kingdom and explore the diversity and adaptability of the furry, feathered, and scaly creatures we find in our own backyard and beyond. From our own Da Vinci Pond to the forests and oceans, we’ll explore how animals behave and what we can do to help them thrive in their natural habitats.

Critter Coders

Grades K-2, Sundays, 10 a.m.-12 p.m., Oct. 30-Nov. 20, $99

Introduce your child to the world of science, technology, engineering, art, and math, through the joy of coding! Each week, participants will embark on various explorations to program our Coding Critter™ robots. Through a variety of games and challenges, your child will develop analytical thinking skills, as they problemsolve, set goals, and work collaboratively to maneuver critters through mazes, create art, and tell stories

Young Inventors: Idea Lab

Grades 5-9, Sundays, 10 a.m.-12 p.m., Oct. 2-Nov. 20, $199

Come experiment with us and transform your ideas into great solutions! Combining innovation, curiosity, and creativity, we’ll take problemsolving to the next level as we practice developing our ideas to meet the patent standard of unique, unknown, and unexpected. Learn advanced building and making skills and so much more, as you turn your idea into a prototype. Concepts focused on in this club include creativity, problem-solving, idea generation, and introduction to entrepreneurship, across eight (8) weeks of exploration. Idea Lab is a prerequisite for the Patent Lab program.

Art of Science

Grades 3-5, Wednesdays, 5:30-7:30 p.m., Sept. 28-Nov. 16, $199

Join us as we learn how to put the ‘A’ in STEAM and discover how art deepens our understanding of science, technology, engineering, and math. You’ll innovate like Leonardo da Vinci to combine traditional art materials with science and engineering concepts in the creation of interactive works of art. Experiment with the physics of light, tinker with circuitry, and express yourself through artmaking. Discover the world of possibilities that STEAM has to offer!

STEAM Girls

Grades 5-8, Wednesdays, 5:30-7:30 p.m., Sept. 28-Nov. 16, $199

Calling all girls with a passion for science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM)!  Da Vinci Science Center invites you to join us for a program exclusively for middle school GIRLS! You’ll connect with like-minded peers to learn to think like scientists and engineers, make new friends, and discover how trailblazing women in science have changed our world. You’ll explore the fields of chemistry, physics, biology, and more and collaborate to solve real-world problems together.

STEAM Girls is offered as part of Da Vinci Science Center’s Women in Science & Engineering (WISE) initiative.

FIRST® LEGO® League: Explore

Grades 2-4, Sundays, 10 a.m.-12 p.m., Oct. 2-Dec. 11 & Jan. 8-April 2, 2023, $899

FIRST® is a not-for-profit organization that encourages kids to explore science and technology through collaboration with mentors and teammates. In the spirit of FIRST®’s mission and values, our programs focus on building self-confidence and STEM skills by providing kids with an inclusive and respectful environment.

FIRST® LEGO® League: Explore is designed for elementary-aged students, and FIRST® LEGO® League: Challenge is designed for middle school-aged students.  This program will be offered continually through the 2022-2023 season, beginning in October and concluding in early April.  Each segment will build upon the prior knowledge of the students in that class.

Student teams will investigate real-world challenges and learn about how scientists are tackling them.  After exploring the many ways science can be used to solve these problems, students build and program a motorized LEGO® model to present their findings.  This year’s SUPERPOWERED theme asks students to think about how the future of energy production will look like, as they explore how energy is generated, stored, distributed, and consumed. For an introduction to the ideas driving this season of FIRST® LEGO® League, please see view the following videos:
