Throughout her time at Nazareth Area High School, Sudenaz founded Wonder Lab, a club that inspires curiosity, deepens understanding, and ignites a passion for STEAM in young minds at Shafer elementary through hands-on experiments led by high schoolers. Additionally, she held the position of Chief Science Officer at her school, collaborating with fellow officers nationwide to promote STEAMinitiatives within our community. Last summer, she conducted research at Columbia University under the mentorship of Professor Raju Tomer. Their study focused on the schizophrenia brain network and its connections to the 22q11.2 deletion syndrome. Outside of academics, Sudenaz engages in photography, shadows surgeons, and volunteers at her local hospital, with the hopes of becoming a cardiothoracic surgeon.
