MaryAnn Woods Przekurat served as the Da Vinci Science Center’s Director of Finance and Human Resources from July 2012-June 2013 and as the Center’s interim Executive Director and CEO from Jan.-March 2013. Przekurat transitioned in June 2013 to become Executive Director and CEO of The Literacy Center of the Lehigh Valley in Allentown, Pa.
Przekurat grew up in the Lehigh Valley region and returned in 2011 after working as a science, mathematics, and technology educator and school administrator for nearly 20 years in Mozambique, Uganda, Ghana, Saudi Arabia, the Dominican Republic, and the United States. She has served in the roles of secondary school principal; Director of Planning and Economics for the American International School of Mozambique in Maputo, Mozambique; Operations and Business Manager for the International School of Uganda in Kampala, Uganda; and Technology Coordinator for Lincoln Community School in Accra, Ghana. Fulfilling her educational philosophy that school administrators should never be far removed from the classroom, Przekurat always taught at least one class every school year.
Przekurat holds certifications as a K-12 school principal and as a teacher of secondary school mathematics, science, and business education. An alumnus of Emmaus High School in Emmaus, Pa., Przekurat has an MBA from Lehigh University, Bethlehem, Pa.; a master’s degree in Finance from the University of Iowa, University City, Iowa; and a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Vermont, Burlington, Vt.
