ALLENTOWN, PA.— What do origami and robotics have in common? Addison, one of a long list of Da Vinci Science Center scholarship award winners would be happy to tell you.
A tradition since 1999, the awards (previously known as the Hall of Fame Excellence Awards) recognize students who show a passion for STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Math), and educators who inspire enthusiasm for learning with innovative approaches.
Da Vinci Science Center once again invites outstanding students and teachers in Lehigh and Northampton counties to submit applications for the 2022 STEAM Scholarship Awards.
Five high school students (grades 9-12) will be awarded $2,000 each to support extracurricular STEAM activities or post-secondary studies, and three K-12 educators will receive a $1,000 cash grant for their school to invest in STEAM education supplies or programs.
The deadline for student applications is Feb. 28th and educator nominations must be made by Feb. 14th.
Award recipients will be honored at the Da Vinci Science Center STEAM Celebration Awards reception on April 26th. Individuals or companies interested in being a scholarship sponsor can email Tammy.McCrae@nulldavincisciencecenter.org
Complete details and applications can be found at www.davincisciencecenter.org.
So, what do origami and robotics have in common? Origami has influenced an entirely new field of study called Robogami. The team at Da Vinci Science Center is excited to learn what other fantastic adventures in STEAM students and teachers are unfolding!
